In-House Paralegal Jobs Paralegals assist attorneys by performing professional and clerical tasks. In-house Paralegals may find ample of employment opportunities in companies like, insurance, financial institutions, medical corporations and research firms. They are required to look after the legalities of a corporation, they are working for. They work under little supervision, however they may report to more than one supervisor, such as the corporations in-house counsel and the department head. They act as a liaison between legal department and the rest of the corporation. In-house paralegals deal with clients that are primarily corporations, so their duties are different from those of paralegals working with law firms, government organisations, etc. The work of paralegals depend on litigation that comes into the company and falls under the corporations insurance policies. They may participate in, are contract compliance, litigation and intellectual property law. Human resources department of the corporations also hire in-house paralegals for their duties. Work activities may include: corresponding with other corporations, attorneys, and clients; maintaining legal department files; docketing and file maintenance; Looking after company and subsidiaries corporate minute books; writing reports to corporate clients, etc. Sometimes they are provide in-house training of employees. They should be able to demonstrate multi-tasking and should also be able to handle complex projects that are being utilized by the corporations.
