Handling court cases defending immigrants at various administrative, federal district, and appellate levels forms an important part of their duty. An immigration attorney may also work in other areas of immigration such as business, employment and asylum based immigration. Represent family reunification, deportation proceedings, business visas, citizenship and naturalization, refugee issues and alien advocacy law before the Immigration and Federal Courts. The attorney should have a JD degree with admission to the local state bar.
