Contract Law Jobs A contract is an agreement creating and defining the obligations between two or more parties for a particular purpose. The purpose of contract law is to enforce promises. Fairness and reasonableness can be considered as pillars of the contract law. Contracts are always formed on the same pattern. Parties to the contract need to be like minded in order to enforce it. Offer and acceptance are two primary factors in a contract enforced by law. If the offer is accepted, the contract is then valid in principle. Acceptance again needs to to be exactly according to the terms of offer, otherwise it could lead to a counter offer rather than an acceptance. Contracts can be considered void in various situations including, Mistakes, Misrepresentation, Duress and Undue Influence, Incapacity, and Illegality of contracts. Parties are allowed to agree to arbitrate disputes arising from their contracts. Failure to perform accordingly leads to the breach of contract. Obtaining damages or specific performance or other equitable relief, the aggrieved injured party may file a civil (non-criminal) lawsuit in state court (unless there is diversity of citizenship giving rise to federal jurisdiction). Contract attorneys work on behalf of companies or individuals to ensure that agreements are made and enforced in a fair way. Reviewing and drafting of contracts forms an essential part of an attorney\\\'s duties. Attorneys can also offer their services in case of broken, misunderstood or non-existing contracts.
