Work activities also include: processing expense reports, arranging meetings, tracking invoices and preparing, drafting and editing various real estate documents like purchase and sale contracts, leases, sales documents, letters of intent, exhibits and closings. At present there is no specific educational qualification for legal secretaries in the US. However, large firms and corporates will undoubtedly want to hire candidates with previous experience and specific educational courses. A course in real estate law will always be an asset. Legal Secretaries may start their careers at entry-level positions and may advance to senior levels. There are more prospects of promotions at a medium to large-sized firm compared to a small size firm. The secretaries may also achieve a supervisory position or become a paralegal. An eye for detail, must be able to organize and the ability to communicate well is needed. Good typing or keyboarding skills are required as well.
