Legal Analyst Jobs Legal Analysts are expected to have high level of analytical thinking and use a high degree of independent judgment and make sound recommendations based on legal research. They are expected have detailed understanding of legal concepts, terminology, principles and procedures. Awareness of different methods of legal research and the use of resources available for legal research is also required. Ability to work under pressure and produce results without close supervision is highly required. They provide paralegal and legal analytical support work including legal research and drafting routine and complex legal documents. Performing complex legal research, analyzing relevant law and making appropriate recommendations is also an important duty of Legal Analysts. Other duties may include: Analyzing recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, statutes, legal documents and other sources; reviewing briefs and other legal documents, identifying and analyzing factual and legal issues; and recommending and assisting in development of legal positions to be taken. Legal Analysts sometimes also get involved in coordinating and preparing witnesses for court proceedings; assisting in the preparation of exhibits; and preparing drafts of pleadings, briefs, motions and other legal documents.
