A person who wants to start a career as a civil attorney should have a J.D. degree along with State Bar registration. J.D. degree can be obtained after three years of full time or four years of part-time study. Proficiency in writing and speaking, reading, researching, analyzing, and thinking logically skills are essential to succeed in this area.
