Old Charlotte law firm feels crunch, lets employees go

One of Charlotte's oldest law firms has become the latest to feel the economic pinch.

Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, one of the oldest firms in Charlotte, North Carolina, has laid off 28 employees, including 13 attorneys.

Parker Poe's revenues and staff grew in the past year, according to a firm statement.

Firm officials said that the cuts were made to align the firm with current market demand and occurred across the firm's six offices in the Carolinas.
