The firm hires candidates from among the top 20% of their classes, and prefers candidates with prior experience in law review and/or moot court, and an advanced degree or certification such as MBA, CPA, or LL.M. Candidates with significant prior experience in banking, business, or financial work during post-college and pre-law school are also preferred. The summer associate program is the main source of new recruits.

Compensation includes a guaranteed bonus and a firm contribution of 10% of total compensation (salary plus bonus) to a tax-advantaged savings plan. A signing bonus of $750 and a starting bonus of $750 exist for first-year summer associates, while second-year summer associates receive a $1,000 signing bonus and a $1,000 starting bonus.
