Land Use and Environmental Paralegal (Litigation and Transactional) The candidate will assist West Coast Land Use and Environmental practice group in various types of Legal matters and provide assistance in preparing Legal documents; research and compile data; maintain responsibility for files, calendars and meetings; service clients as required by attorneys. Will survey and keep attorneys apprised of recent developments in practice area, primarily Land Use and Environmental Law. Research, organize, summarize and index documents from various sources. Prepare for and compile documents for Administrative and court proceedings, namely records of Administrative proceedings under the California Environmental Quality Act. Draft correspondence and briefs, and assist in the preparation of court and other documents. Prepare and maintain Trial notebooks and documents to be used at hearings and trials. Conduct Legal research, utilizing internet sources, Lexis-Nexis, and Westlaw. Attend and participate in any of the following: Administrative or court hearings, trials, meetings with clients; and prepare corresponding documentation. Assist in the preparation of Marketing materials, including requests for information, articles, and seminars. Research and maintain local court filing procedures.<br /> <br /> A High School Diploma is required; Paralegal certification and/or Bachelors Degree is preferred. Must have 3 - 5 years of experience as a litigation or land use Paralegal in a law firm or public agency attorney Office. Excellent Writing skills are needed. Should have ability to efficiently research, maintain and organize information and voluminous documentation to assess Claims and initiate responses by the firm.
