Paralegal The candidate will provide paralegal support to attorneys in the Office of General Counsel . Duties will include: providing assistance and/or taking responsibility for maintenance of pleadings files; coordinating document production; developing and maintaining internal procedures for monitoring and flagging deadlines for OGC deliverables, including filing deadlines in court; completing all data entry into OGC's case management system; engaging in fundamental legal research using Lexis and other on-line resources; shepherdizing cases and providing cite checking support and prepares and files all trademark forms and copyright registration forms.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelors Degree; Paralegal Certificate or Degree. 3+ years of paralegal/legal assistance experience is needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Previous experience in at least two of the following areas: litigation, contracts, employment law, nursing regulation, federal regulation is a must. Knowledge of Lexis research service; proficiency in varied software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and a case management service (Time Matters experience is desired). Association work and health law a plus.
