Job Profile
Omaha office seeks Desktop Administrator with 2+ years of computer hardware experience, to include troubleshooting and repairing. The primary responsibilities of this position include the management and maintenance of the firm's desktop image, workstation maintenance, and procurement and distribution of hardware. Will also assist in the maintenance of the SMS server which is used for software deployment. Additional responsibilities include management and maintenance of the firm's Blackberry server and software, aiding in the management of group policy and occasional writing of scripts to perform routine tasks or to be used as part of logon processes. Procure desktop and notebook hardware. Design, document, build, test, implement and routinely update Microsoft operating system images for the firm's desktops and notebooks. Configure, test and automate the deployment and integration of Microsoft Office and other desktop applications. Test and deploy patches against standard client images. Work closely with help desk and applications team to configure and maintain standard workstation configurations. Provide second tier support to the firm's Help Desk. Monitor and maintain antivirus protection on all firm workstations. Troubleshoot and replace computer hardware. Diagnose and resolve complex desktop problems, recommend and implement corrective solutions. Collaborate with network and server administrators to ensure efficient operations. Manage the firm's Blackberry Enterprise Server. Perform logon script and group policy tasks as needed. Travel and work overtime as necessary. Demonstrate strong organizational, as well as verbal and written skills. A high school education or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree will be given preference. An understanding of Blackberry mobile devices and Windows mobile devices and the ability to manage the Blackberry server is required. Should have knowledge of computer imaging and deployment. Should possesses strong organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills, multi-tasking abilities and an excellent customer service orientation. Superior interpersonal communication skills to interact with executives, employees and vendors required.
