Job Profile. Regional Head of Private Banking Compliance Europe
The candidate will provide regional strategic direction and managerial oversight and coordination of the in-house risk based compliance approach and service that effectively supports the Private Banking businesses in Europe in their duty to comply with the letter and spirit of relevant laws, regulations and related policy requirements. Support the Regional Head of Compliance and Assurance and senior management to ensure that the Private Banking businesses in the region operate in accordance with their legal and regulatory requirements and Group standards of conduct so as to protect and enhance the reputation of the Bank. Anticipate and surface for management consideration regulatory risk trends in the region and assists in the development and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation control measures. Contribute to and ensures positive relationships with regional and country stakeholders (internal and external) at appropriate levels. Set and establish team job descriptions, objectives, priorities and performance standards through discussions with both team and relevant stakeholders ensuring alignment with business agenda in the region. Ensure appropriate and adequate resources, capabilities and competencies to support business growth and address risk issues. Identify training and development opportunities for regional team and cultivate talent. Provide current and anticipative regional regulatory advice on all material aspects of the role at appropriate level. Provide guidance on proper application and interpretation of laws, regulations and policies applicable to the business and ensures a consistent and commensurate application of such laws, regulations and policies in the region. Assume active involvement in problem-solving and crisis management over critical issues that have a compliance or regulatory impact on the business/operations in the region. Prioritise resources for the most cost effective identification of key material regulatory risks through measured analysis of factual scenarios and/or documentation. Ensure local compliance teams are effectively engaged with local risk and control committees and senior management in reporting legal, regulatory and reputation risk issues. Support the business in integrating Treating Customer Fairly principles and outcomes into the overall business culture and helping ensure that adequate management information is available and documented to adequately assess and demonstrate TCF compliance.
