Word Processor III
The candidate will assist the trial unit with word processing and the preparation and filing of court pleadings. Should have extensive experience in the areas listed below and will be required to perform the following tasks: Word processing support (edits and formatting) for pleadings, exhibits, spreadsheets to be used in the litigation and administrative proceeding process; Generate table of contents and tables of authorities for pleadings; Apply knowledge of court rules and procedures to accomplish electronic court filings for attorneys and provide chambers courtesy copies, blue backing, service of documents; Coordinate with technical legal support both in-house staff and vendors, opposing counsel, and court staff; and Copy and/or arrange for copying, scanning, faxing, correspondence processing,and mailing.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have High school diploma or GED. Experience working in a government or legal environment is strongly preferred. Experience as a Legal Secretary, extremely will be helpful. Must have 3+ years of word processing experience. 1+ year experience in the specific office automation environment is required (e.g., WordPerfect Office 12/Microsoft Office 2003).Experience with ECF, PACER, and/or Westlaw/Lexis Nexis will be extremely helpful. Automated litigation support experience will be helpful (e.g. Concordance). Litigation support experience will be helpful. Should be an expert user of the Government's word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications systems. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications [i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and WordPerfect Office Suite. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills.
