Legal Secretary - Litigation The candidate will provide secretarial support to attorneys in the Litigation group. Will transcribe various documents such as Legal pleadings, contracts, letters, memoranda, etc. from Transcription equipment onto computer system. Make revisions to documents on computer system and print documents from computer system onto laser printers using various printing styles and features. Handle various telephone responsibilities such as taking and delivering messages to attorney, setting up conference calls, marking telephone bills for appropriate client billing, etc. Enter daily time records onto computer system for each assigned attorney and/or Legal Assistant and maintain time sheet file. Handle monthly or quarterly billing responsibilities if assigned to work for a billing partner. Photocopy various types of documents, as well as reference materials, daily Administrative paper work, etc. File large volumes of documents and correspondence in client files as well as various Administrative and personal files for attorneys. Responsible for organizing, indexing and sending to Records Center all closed files intended to be stored in firm's off-site storage facility. Complete Travel and Expense Reimbursement Statements. Maintain calendar for attorney as requested. Delegate overflow work to various support departments such as Secretarial Services, Copy Center, Messenger Center, IT, etc.<br /> <br /> The candidate should have High School Diploma. Must have 5+ years of law firm secretarial experience. Should have Administrative experience supporting Executive Management. Flexibility to work overtime is required. Ability to type 85+ wpm and to transcribe dictation from Transcription equipment is essential. Familiarity with Legal terminology and procedures is needed. Proficiency in MS Office Suite is a must.
