Legal Assistant - Litigation ( Intellectual Property / Trademark ) The candidate will handle due diligence/research on technical and damages experts. Will conduct knock-out searches for proposed trademarks. Assist in Drafting trademark goods/services descriptions. Regular review of Trademark Office Official Gazette for potentially conflicting marks and Drafting summary of same. Filing Trademark and Copyright applications. Docketing Trademark due dates. Creating and maintaining Trademark files and filing correspondence. Assisting with quotes for potential Trademark prosecution clients. Managing and arranging payment of foreign counsel invoices. Filing Patent, Trademark and Copyright Assignments and Security interests. Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.<br /> <br /> The candidate should have Paralegal certificate or Declaration Equivalent under Business and Professions Code Section 6450(c)(4). College degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience. Must have 2-5 years of law firm experience in IP/trademark group. Should be familiar with all aspects of patent and trademark practice, terms and procedures, including rules, regulations and procedures of the Patent Trademark Office. Ability to analyze and understand Legal materials and technical data is needed. Must have strong research and computer skills, including knowledge of patent/trademark electronic search Technology and relevant databases. Local Travel to federal and state courts and agencies may be required.
