IP Litigation Attorney
The candidate will report directly to the Lead Counsel - Litigation and is responsible for litigation of disputes before various tribunals (including US and foreign courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies), with an emphasis on patent infringement and related commercial disputes. Will litigate disputes, both directly and in close working relationships with outside counsel. Manage and directly carry out all litigation tasks for particular matters, such as case analysis, strategy development, drafting and filing complaints, answers, motions, discovery requests and responses, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and trying cases.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have an advanced degree in life sciences (Biology, Engineering or Chemistry) or equivalent technological background, and registration in the USPTO. Must be admitted to a State Bar or to the District of Columbia Bar. Admission to the California State Bar is strongly preferred. Must have 5-7 years of significant patent analysis and litigation experience (major Law firm and/or in-house). Experience working within the Life Science or Biotechnology industries, along with strong technical ability and understanding of the scientific realm and the legal field is strongly preferred. Should have demonstrated abilities to effectively litigate, analyze patent and commercial disputes and develop winning strategies, manage outside counsel, drive cases, and control costs are key requirements.
