US Patent Paralegal The candidate will report to Partners/Associates/Patent Agents in the Intellectual Property Group, Patent Team. Will monitor daily docket for compliance with due dates; keep attorneys and docket Staff apprised. Prepare filing documents for attorney review; file applications (design, provisional, utility (conventional/national stage) in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) via electronic filing system; prepare declarations, information disclosure statements (IDS) and preliminary amendments; obtain references for IDS as needed; prepare and file response to missing parts/requirements, and other responses in the USPTO. Prepare assignment document for execution; file assignment in the assignment branch of the USPTO via EPAS. Prepare and file request for corrections of USPTO notices/documents. Prepare report letters in a timely manner to client according to client's standard operating procedures; respond to client's communication; communicate directly with client (domestic and International). Extensive post-allowance review of file and report to client; prepare and file requests of missing acknowledgements with the USPTO. Attend to payment of issue fee; report issue notification. Forward Letters Patent to client. Prepare reminder letter to client for Maintenance fees; attend to payment of Maintenance fee. Must have 4+ years of solid patent prosecution experience or two year degree. Should be proficient in Microsoft Word. Japanese language a plus.
