Job Profile
Dallas office seeks patent attorney having 2-5 years of patent law experience, including working as patent prosecution/litigation attorney. The candidate will represent foreign/domestic clients in patent prosecution and other legal proceedings before the USPTO. Will prepare legal documents such as national and international patent applications, responses to office actions, and appeal briefs. Advise clients on the international aspects of patent law proceedings related to patent infringement, licensing, and prosecution, including offensive and defensive patent licensing programs or activities. Conduct legal research, preparing legal memoranda and legal analysis/opinions, infringement analyses, and validity studies regarding the applicability of patent laws and coordinating with foreign counsel regarding legal and technical issues on US patent practice and litigation. Should have a technical degree in the electrical, telecommunications, semiconductor, or computer science and engineering. Must have experience analyzing patent and infringement laws, regulations and procedures; experience in patent licensing, including drafting and negotiating patent licensing agreements; and experience in developing, advising, strategizing and managing patent portfolios. Current membership in good standing of any US State Bar and license to practice patent law before USPTO is required.
