Litigation Paralegal Duties: Will assist with preparation of pleadings, discovery requests, response motions, depositions, mediation and Trial. Assist in organization, Management and analysis of voluminous documents and document productions. Prepare initial drafts of client reports and status updates. Summarize and organize depositions, records, Medical records and testimony. Verify case citations in briefs for current validity and accuracy through Westlaw. Draft various pleadings, memoranda and correspondence. Interact with government and court personnel, as well as clients and opposing counsel. Organize and maintain files. Work consistently and effectively in a team environment. Interact with photocopy vendors, records retrieval services and technical consultants. Have the ability to work with USB, CD and DVD media containing electronic data. <br /> <br /> Requirements : Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Four year college or Associate's degree preferred. Should have 5 years of experience as a Paralegal. Litigation and Trial preparation experience preferred. Certification in Paralegal studies. Significant experience as a Paralegal will be considered in lieu of college degree. Should have Paralegal with litigation experience. Experience in managing litigation dockets with a wide variety of matters in both state and federal court systems. Should be comfortable utilizing Technology to conduct daily tasks due to the volume of document creation needed in this practice. Previous experience as a Paralegal in a litigation environment is preferred. The ideal candidate should have very strong Technology skills and an interest in the practice of litigation law. Must also be highly organized, detail oriented and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent time Management and organizational skills with attention to detail, as position requires support of multiple attorneys. Strong Writing and Proofreading skills. Must have high level computer literacy. This includes proficiency in MS Office software suite, and working knowledge of a document Management system such as IManage or FileSite. Experience using automated Legal research (Westlaw, Lexis). Ability to manage litigation involving voluminous documents using current Technology. Familiarity with litigation software such as Summation, Case Notebook, IPro or Concordance. Analytical proficiency.
