Job Title Litigation Attorney in Montpelier, VT Job Profile Counsel The candidate will report to the General Counsel and will be responsible for providing guidance. Will provide counsel and advice on legal issues in areas including litigation, employment law, ERISA, employee benefits, contracts, life insurance and annuity products and distribution. Will work directly with business areas and senior management to advance business area and corporate initiatives; build and maintain strong and effective relationships with business partners; become trusted advisor and effectively work with and manage outside counsel. Qualification and Experience The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school and currently licensed as an attorney. 3-7 years of relevant legal experience in one or more of the following areas: litigation, employment law, contracts, ERISA, employee benefits, life insurance and annuity products and distribution is needed. Experience within financial services company or insurance company as an in-house counsel is desired. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are a must.
