Legal Assistant The candidate provides clerical assistance to attorneys in the Firm. Transcribes tape dictation for the drafting of various legal documents, general correspondence, and related material. Files correspondence and legal documents either for in-house or for storage. Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents. Preparation and typing of legal documents for hourly and collection files. Maintains document file. Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, composing and typing routine correspondence and assist with travel arrangements. Maintain confidentiality of clients, firm information, cases, staff and contacts. Other duties as assigned. Should have Associates Degree in Legal Assistant, Para-legal, Legal Secretary and/or 1-5 years experience working in a law office. Must have knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and forms related to administrative support in a law firm. Should have 1 year of experience.
