Fast Paced Environment

Continue with what you are doing with the firm. Consistently improving the office and providing great benefits to staff will keep this firm moving in the right direction.

The office environment here is busy so there is always something going on. Despite that, they work with you to make sure you have time for separate from the firm.

Working at Sandelands requires a commitment to the team and dedication to your work. It may not be the best fit for everyone.

No one to really avoid. Everyone at the firm works well together. Any problems that have come up are usually always dealt with cordially.

Benefits, management, busy environment, comfortable office, and scheduling to name a few. There are some wonderful individuals that you will work with here.

Great Environment

I honestly cannot state any cons....no place is perfect but they do everything very well. I would recommend Sandelands to anyone.

Very positive work environment and transparent management team. They are great at showing how much they care for employees. Overall, an excellent culture and with outstanding values.

Nothing bad to say. This is an excellent law firm. I have yet to work at a firm as warm and welcoming as this one.

No partners to avoid. They are all great! Matt and Alina are excellent attorneys and mentors. As long as your work is getting done, there shouldn't be a problem.

The people are welcoming and supportive. Everyone tries to help out, even if it is something outside of their normal job.

Hire a managing partner with actual legal experience and start treating associates like professionals. Stop letting the support staff run the firm.

Good food and the non-equity partners are great. I honestly cannot think of anything else but need at least 20 words.

Do not work here. The managing partner has little, if any, litigation experience. She only practiced law for 1.5 years at Sandelands Eyet's predecessor firm before offering money to one of the partners (who's now an equity partner at SE) to start a new firm (SE) on the condition that she be made an equity partner. If you want to practice law, look elsewhere. The overwhelming majority of your time will be spent doing clerical work required by their one, and pretty much only, client. You simply should not work at a firm so heavily dependent on a single client. There is a big brotheresque culture to this firm. You have to put EVERYTHING (doctor's appointments, sick days, vacation days, etc.) on the managing partner's calendar at least 48 hours in advance or else you'll get screamed at or accused of interviewing at other firms. The travel policy is awful, too. Practically no reimbursement for mileage and you have to permission not to come back to the office after an appearance, even if the appearance is say, 2:00 in Queens (the firm is located in Bedminster, NJ). On top of the policies, the support staff will report everything the associates say and do to the managing partner. This culture means turnover is high, but it gets worse. The equity partners call a firm meeting once a week where the main point seems to be ridiculing associates for things that should, and could, be handled privately. These meetings are also where absurd new office polices are put into place, like not being allowed to send appellate briefs via fedex overnight or the rule that all briefs need to be drafted two weeks before the filing date (you generally get assigned cases where a deadline has already passed or is a week away). And good luck trying to leave once you realize how bad it is. Over the past year, the managing partners have accused on associate of "lying" after leaving two months after receiving a year end bonus. They then proceeded to ask the associate if she had any mental issues. Another associate was berated and screamed at after giving his notice. only to later be given a counter-offer. That counter offer was turned down and then the associate was berated all over again. It's a running joke in the office that people prepare two resignation letters before giving notice. One assuming you stayed the full two weeks and one in case the managing partners harass to the point where you just quit on the spot. Do not work here.

All of the equity partners for all the reasons above. The non-equity partners are great people who go out of their way to protect the associates from the whims and fits of management.

The restaurants around the firm are top-notch, but going back to this law firm afterwards can make even the best lunch not sit well.

Reinstate the old travel reimbursement policy or hire more remotely based attorneys to cover the out of state and long travel distance appearances.

Family friendly, nice office space and people are really easy to get along with. Good incentive policy for bringing in new clients. Other attorneys are pretty good about covering appearances if you are swamped or have a conflict

A few appearances require long travel distance, and travel reimbursement policy used to be better. New files usually require immediate work which makes it difficult to meet existing deadlines

There are not any partners I would avoid but everyone obviously has their quirks. Most people at the firm do not really have any problems with the partners

Everyday dress down policy and almost eveyone gets along really well. They also have a lot of family oriented events and I almost never work on weekends

Great work environment

It would be great to get some lunch options in the building or the food trucks back! Other than that I love the events hosted for everyone it would be nice to do it more often.

Everyone is so supportive here with work, family issues and general guidance. As an attorney, I can work from home when I need to and never miss an important event with my kids.

The parking isnt covered which can be problematic when it snows. Not a ton of places to eat either. Eventhough there is a Kings shopping center and a couple of restaurants it gets old quick.

Every partner here has been kind to me so I don’t have anything negative to say for this one. I don’t avoid any of the partners.

A lot of the attorneys brainstorm and strategize together which is refreshing coming from the last place I worked.

They deleted my last review because it was critical

They only have one client so the 'work/life' balance is technically ok, but really that's just a product of the firm's practice.

I highly recommend you read the reviews on glassdoor since they can't be deleted, which is apparently not true for this site. Shame on lawcrossing.

I don't have any favorite things about this firm, but need to write at least twenty words. I guess the food in surrounding area is good.
