Very Flexible Firm

I would like to see management implement small groups that will take care of worker reviews on a more regular basis so that employees know where they stand in the firm.

I found the pay to be excellent. I also thought that there was great flexibility in terms of allowing how each individual deals with their client. Everyone was very friendly as well.

This is a big law firm and being a big law firm there it can be quite arduous to figure out where you stand in the firm when compared to everyone else. I found this is be a somewhat small flaw in the grand scheme of things though.

Good Culture with Occasionally Weak Leadership

Be more attentive to employees that might need more guidance or clarification - some people are just more risk-adverse and don't like to take action without permission. Help them now so they can gain more confidence for the future.

Just about everyone is great to work with - the culture is excellent. There are lots of opportunities to learn and grow, and many positions have a lot of autonomy. Technology is pretty up to date.

Pay and benefits sometimes feel sub-par compared to working hours and local competitors' salaries. As good as it is that the firm gives people a lot of leeway, sometimes it does not seem like they provide enough guidance or direction to employees.

A Great Firm With a lot of Freedom

Coach and mentor the new associates early on so they can thrive. That would minimize any potential issues a new associate might run into I think. I found some micromanaging early on helped me.

Both the other lawyers and staff are great. I found the staff very helpful, and I could talk to the lawyers. I was expected to do my job with little management. I was rewarded highly for my own initiative in many instances.

For experienced associates like myself the minimal management is great. But it does hurt new associates. They need more guidance I have found before they can start taking their own initiative
