1.0Current EmployeeTransportation Group at Windels Marx in New York CityAssociate in New York, NYRecommendProsIt's a job with a salary.ConsEvery single person in the Transportation Group at Windels Marx, from secretaries to associates to partners, are extremely unhappy with how the show is run. Everybody gets bullied, paid way below market wages, and some of the already poor benefits have been taken away from the employees. Not only this, but I've received complaints even from clients about the behavior of some partners (in particular about not following up on some client requests and being very insistent about money). Of course this is still a job, so if you absolutely can't find anything else and need money (which will be very little) go ahead and take it, but I'd recommend you start looking for another job on your first day.Advice to ManagementRespect clients and employees.

Exciting Opportunities Await at Windels Marx: A Full-Service Law Firm with a Rich History

Windels Marx, a full-service law firm headquartered in New York City, offers attorneys and staff an exciting and dynamic work environment. With offices in New Jersey and Connecticut, the firm boasts a team of approximately 135 attorneys who provide services in 18 practice areas. Windels Marx serves a diverse clientele of approximately 8,000 domestic and foreign clients, including banks, insurance companies, manufacturers, non-profit entities, and government-sponsored enterprises.

Founded in the mid-nineteenth century, Windels Marx has played a significant role in shaping the practice of law in New York. The firm's legacy includes representing Thomas Edison in a landmark litigation that confirmed his claim as the inventor of the incandescent electric light. Windels Marx also had the honor of incorporating IBM in the early 1900s. Over the years, the firm's attorneys have been appointed to prestigious posts in government and the legal profession, including the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and federal district courts.

The firm's growth and expansion have been driven by strategic mergers with other law firms. The most recent merger between Windels, Marx, Davies & Ives and Lane & Mittendorf, LLP has further strengthened the firm's capabilities and expertise. This union has allowed Windels Marx to handle more sophisticated transactions and broaden its client base. Additionally, the firm's New Jersey practice has been bolstered by the addition of seven partners from the esteemed former Princeton law firm, Jamieson Moore Peskin & Spicer. These attorneys bring a wealth of experience in complex insurance litigation, government relations and lobbying, environmental law, corporate law, securities, and banking transactions.

At Windels Marx, attorneys and staff can expect a supportive and collaborative work environment. The firm values teamwork and encourages its employees to work together to provide the best possible legal solutions for their clients. With a diverse range of practice areas, attorneys have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases and gain valuable experience in different areas of the law. This exposure allows them to develop a well-rounded skill set and become versatile legal professionals.

In addition to the stimulating work environment, Windels Marx offers numerous benefits to its employees. The firm provides competitive compensation packages, including salary, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Attorneys and staff also have access to professional development opportunities, including continuing legal education programs and mentorship programs. Windels Marx recognizes the importance of work-life balance and strives to create an environment that supports the well-being of its employees.

Joining Windels Marx means becoming part of a firm with a rich history and a commitment to excellence.
