If this firm were to beef up the salary and add a few perks this might suddenly become the best firm in the region.

The people and work environment at this firm are both very good. Everyone is pretty laid back and easy to get along with, and the support staff is incredibly good at what they do.

The salary and benefits are rather low compared to what other firms in this area are offering. The work environment helps to make up for this pitfall, however.

Pro bono

Lane Powell believes the integrity of the legal system depends on equal access to justice. In 2014, we donated nearly $5 million worth of pro bono hours to disadvantaged individuals and organizations that cannot afford legal counsel.

Lane Powell fully endorses the pro bono policies of the American Bar Association, Oregon State Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association and the Multnomah Bar Association. The Firm encourages its attorneys to devote time to pro bono activities and provides billable hour credit for up to 100 hours of pro bono work.

Attorneys provide the same level of skill and attention to pro bono matters that they would to any other client. In a July 2007 letter, Bas Vanderzalm, President of Medical Teams International, wrote a letter thanking Lane Powell for its pro bono service.
