5.Current EmployeeGreat pay, benefits, balance.Litigation Docketing Specialist RecommendProsVery competitive pay, including bonuses for staff. High level of work-life balance. Flexible remote work policy. Very generous HSA contribution compared to other mid-sized firms.ConsI dont have any notes.Advice to ManagementProvide staff with more “state of the firm†memos.
HR needs to devise a plan to alleviate some of the stress involved, since everyone is hyper focused on moving forward, we could lose some people.
The pay is on the top tier and the team can be very focused to finish the job quickly
Overworked employees do exist here, and some are a bit strung out with the workload at certain points in the year.
Hire a more diverse group of employees. Sometimes it seems to be just the "good old boys" network. I also think that a law firm of this caliber should have better coffee,
I have been with Stoel Rives for 5 years now. I find that it is a great place to work. The benefits are above average and the offices are beautiful. I find that most of the staff is very supportive,
A couple of the attorneys at Stoel Rives are elitist and feel that they are better than anyone else. One in particular always requests that I do personal errands such as pick up their laundry.
If you are not a motivated self-starter, this may not be the best fit for you. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed, and partners DO NOT demand you work late nights or weekends (of course there are occasional exceptions). As a result, if you are not motivated and a self-starter, you may have a tough time hitting your hours. On the other hand, if you actively seek work and have the motivation, the firm will give you as many hours as your heart desires.
This firm brings in excellent clients who are great to work with. The partners are always willing to take the time to help you learn and grow, and they provide plenty of opportunities to do so. Low pressure atmosphere, excellent culture (associates are truly happy here), great reputation, and overall a fantastic place to work. It doesn't get any better in the pacific northwest!
Health insurance for employees is excellent, but benefits for families are not very good. Depending on your situation, it may be cheaper to find a health plan on the open market for your family. Pay is near the top of the market, but there are firms who will pay more--in the end, its worth a little less pay for the work-life balance this firm offers!
Thank you.
