Formalizing a training program would be of great benefit to this firm. I wish the partners would be more accessible and transparent, as well.


Pros : The best thing about working here is the support staff. They are incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, and great at their jobs. It's amazing how much you can get done with expert support staff. The office equipment is also very nice.
Cons : Partners are not very accessible to new associates and it's not always clear what steps need to be taken to advance within the firm. The training program could use work.

  • Represented Deutsche Bank as financial advisor to Dole Food Company in its agreement to sell its worldwide packaged foods and Asia fresh produce businesses to Itochu Corp. for $1.685 billion in cash.
  • Represented The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company in a resounding $308 million litigation victory against the US subsidiary of Banco Santander SA, Spain's largest bank.
  • Represents Deutsche Bank as financial advisor to Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation in its US$2.6 billion acquisition by Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc.
  • Represented Deltek, a New Mountain Capital portfolio company, in its $1.1 billion acquisition by private equity firm Thoma Bravo.
  • Advises a private equity consortium in connection with its preliminary proposal to acquire Focus Media Holding Limited for US$27 in cash per American depositary share, or US$5.40 in cash per ordinary share. The going-private transaction would be China's largest leveraged buyout in history. The consortium consists of affiliates of FountainVest Partners, The Carlyle Group, CITIC Capital Partners, CDH Investments, China Everbright Limited, and the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Focus Media.
  • Represented New York Genome Center, Inc. in connection with its 20-year lease of 170,000 square feet at 101 Avenue of the Americas, a high-rise property in SoHo owned by Edward J. Minskoff Equities, Inc. The $47 million facility build-out will include sequencing, bioinformatics, and research labs, an Innovation Center to advance new technologies, and computing infrastructure to handle the processing and storage of massive amounts of new data. The facility will also include a ground-floor auditorium and cafe, training facilities and administrative offices.
  • Advised GS Capital Partners and certain other existing equity holders of Cequel Communications Holdings, LLC in their agreement to sell Suddenlink to BC Partners, CPP Investment Board and Suddenlink's management team for US$6.6 billion.
  • Represented Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse, financial advisors to Human Genome Sciences), in connection with its agreement to be acquired by GlaxoSmithKline for US$14.25 per share in cash, or approximately US$3 billion.
