Summer associate program

The firm believes that the associate's summer experience should provide them with a realistic view of what it is to practice law at Cooley's. During the experience the associates learn that Cooley is a place committed to providing astonishing legal services in a welcoming, professional, vigorous but fun environment. Summer work is consequential, varied and all-inclusive interspersed with many social events.

The type of assignments associates can expect to receive are drafting and participating in the negotiation of venture capital investment documents; writing pleadings and motions for filing in court; preparing for and attending depositions and preparing incorporation documents for start-up companies. The firm also offers workshops on negotiation skills, client counseling and depositions.

The compensation for summer associates firmwide is $3,077 per week. Interested candidates should submit a copy of their cover letter, resume and transcript through the firm's online application system.
