Advice to law firm management:

Remind people that socializing is optional and keep people from stressing from it too much but also encourage those that want to join in to do so.

Pros:

Not only is everyone here paid fairly but everyone just seems to get along and is fairly relaxed. It would be in character for most people to say hello outside of work and just chat.

Cons:

Some people may hate the forced feeling of interacting with co-workers outside of normal work hours if they have a hard time with dealing with people.

Advice to law firm management:

Train management to run the firm better. Raise the pay to an adequate level.

Pros:

The staff are excellent to work with. The work is interesting at times. This is a great experience for newcomers. You will learn a lot.

Cons:

The pay isn't what it should be and there are some issues with management.

Advice to law firm management:

No advice for the firm, I very much enjoy my job and the company. Highly recommend Travelers for all job seekers.

Pros:

Travelers is a fantastic company to work for. Benefits are extremely competitive, work life balance is incredible, and the company treats its employees very well. This is a great place to work!

Cons:

I do not have any negative things to say about Travelers, this is a great place to build a career.

Advice to law firm management:

Steer clear of this outfit until management changes. Used to be a good place to work, but not in the last few years. Regional and national management know this, but are powerless or choose not to do anything about it. This is considered one of the poorest staff counsel offices in the organization.

Pros:

Travelers is a good company that writes good business with varied and interesting insureds. The claims personnel are very proficient and good to work with

Cons:

Management of the liability side of the staff counsel operation is very poor. Not concerned with ethics or professionalism, but with conformity and rule following. The workers comp side of this office is better run and morale is better on that half, but the top management (name on the door) kills morale and performance.
