Practice Innovations Analyst The candidate will work with Strategic Business Units (SBU), Practice Specialty Centers (PSC) and applicable administrative departments at the firm, to identify opportunities to develop and implement new technologies, processes, or new product offerings. Will help the firm focus investments of time, money and human resources on the projects, ideas, and technologies that anticipate and capitalize on business model innovations and that maximize new revenue and provide return on investment. Develop and implement methodologies to identify and vet projects that provide strategic and tactical advantages for the firm and/or the firm's clients. Develop and implement a set of business planning methodologies to help vet incoming project ideas for viability and return on investment. The business planning methodologies should also clearly identify projects that are not worthy of firm investments. Develop and implement a set of project management methodologies that help maximize the firm's time and financial investments in projects, to ensure thorough implementation and maximize adaption of new systems and processes. Develop tracking mechanisms to document project requests, approvals, and status of ongoing projects. Develop a series of measures that allow the firm to measure actual Return on Investment to ensure actual measurements compare favorably to those predicted in the business planning process. Develop an entrepreneurial environment that allows firm attorneys and staff to offer ideas for consideration. Monitor market trends on delivering innovative legal services and monitor how new and existing technologies can help drive innovation at the firm. Interview firm partners and associates regarding the use of technology to enhance the delivery of legal services for firm clients. Work with administrative departments such as IT, Accounting and others, to vet project and technology ideas, as well as to plan and implement approved projects. Work with administrative departments such as IT, Accounting and others, to identify innovative opportunities using technology and existing data repositories as well as data analytics and data mining techniques. Work with PSCs, SBUs, and administrative teams on innovative opportunities to re-engineer outdated processes impacting the delivery of legal services. Work with PSCs, SBUs and administrative teams on opportunities to drive up adaption of existing best practices to provide more consistent and efficient legal service delivery.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. A J.D. degree is preferred. Should preferably have 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney OR 5+ years of demonstrable history of innovative leadership in a professional services environment. Experience and familiarity of technology in legal settings is required. Demonstrable experience planning, leading and implementing large scale projects is needed. Demonstrable experience with the business planning process is essential.
