AML Compliance Representative - Retail - Community, Branch Banking The candidate will ensures the Retail - Community and Branch Banking units are in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) laws and regulations. Will maintain high level of compliance awareness and knowledge to effectively support areas of responsibility. Participate in the review and interpretation of new and proposed laws and regulations that potentially impact business practices. Assist Business Lines to comply with corporate policy and standards by providing interpretive guidance and oversight. Assess AML and OFAC risks presented with new and existing products and services, and advise of necessary changes. Offer technical advice, support, oversight and follow-up during the development and installation of solutions to address issues identified in regulatory examination, audit testing, Quality Assurance review, and other areas, to ensure timely resolution. Oversee Business Line implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of training programs to ensure improved learner retention of regulatory and policy requirements. Apply Risk Assessment Methodology to annual AML risk assessments, horizontal risk assessments and new products risk assessments to assist in the identification of control weaknesses and development of risk mitigation plans. Review Third Party Vendors for compliance utilizing information provided by the vendor and knowledge of applicable business systems and processes. Work with other areas of Corporate AML to ensure continued sharing of knowledge and information. Provide management with periodic assessments of AML compliance for assigned Business Lines, to include metrics gathering and reporting. Ensure compliance oversight is well documented, with appropriate files maintained.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in related field. Should preferably have a J.D. degree, other advanced degree, or commissioned examiner experience. Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation is an asset. Must have 6+ years of direct AML/BSA compliance experience in a regulated financial institution. Knowledge of retail banking products, services and operations is required. Substantial knowledge of applicable laws and regulations including the FFIEC exam manual is needed. Working knowledge of AML/BSA program framework (business operations, policies and procedures, training, reporting requirements) is essential. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Lotus Notes, Sharepoint and Archer is preferred.
