Attorney – Workers’ Compensation The candidate should have working knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and procedures with strong research and analytical skills and the knowledge required to mitigate exposure and defend workers’ compensation claims. Must have the ability to handle large caseloads and prioritize deadlines. Must have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Prefer candidates with recent workers’ compensation experience from understanding claims handling guidelines to negotiating settlements and representing the interests of the client at claims review hearings, depositions, trials and other proceedings. The attorney should have the ability to manage costs to reduce liability and calculate exposure as well as an understanding of medical, construction, and products terminology and similar issues inherent in workers’ compensation cases. Strong writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate with claims representatives, clients and opposing counsel are required.
