Profile

Wealth Planner Duties: Work with Private Bankers to identify prospects and sell fiduciary structures (trusts and investment holding vehicles) to high net worth clients of Private Bank and ancillary business channels. Evaluate client needs and sell appropriate fiduciary structures in line with CPB and Citi Trust policies and risk parameters; achieve assigned revenue and AUM targets. Obtain an accurate depiction of a client's assets and objectives in relation to product specialty. Uncover needs that are not clearly expressed by the client. Develop product solutions that meet client's short- and long-term needs. Offer alternatives when a client's request cannot be met. Present clients with a seamless integration of services within product specialty. Identify opportunities to introduce other organizational capabilities such as insurance, discretionary portfolios and other types of investments. Minimize the client and Private Bank exposure to risk within the product specialty by observing suitability policies at the point of client transactions and by monitoring and communicating changes in the client's financial condition as well as industry and economic trends. Deliver all the phases of complex sales, including preparation and delivery of customized marketing materials and monitoring the execution and delivery of closing documentation (standard or customized). Manage own pipeline of business in order to ensure that all clients visited receive adequate follow-up while maintaining sales momentum. Coordinate with Trust Centers/Fiduciary Services Group (US)/Global New Business (International). Work closely with relevant trust centre partners to ensure efficient on-boarding of new business. Coordinate with various trust centres to ensure that existing relationships are reviewed periodically per Trust policy. Assist with the implementation of exit strategies or conversions (as applicable) to comply with policy. Occasionally serve as a conduit between the Private Bankers and trust centers to ensure that client needs are met. Provide ongoing education to Private Bankers and members of own team on product specific developments: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, bankers, and other product specialists who seek expertise and strategic advice in regard to product specialty. Educate Bankers and other members of the sales team to increase knowledge and proficiency in product area. Maintain a general understanding of all other products that tie into product specialty. Understand and keep abreast of changes in legislation in order to ascertain how such laws affect tax efficient fiduciary structures established for our clients; be informed and able to discuss current and historical legal/tax environment in the relevant countries the Wealth Planner will predominately cover.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Graduate degree in law (preferable), accounting, economics, finance or MBA essential; STEP or CTFA (as appropriate) qualifications are an asset. 7+ years trust and fiduciary industry experience ideally combined with at least 3-5 years of trust and fiduciary sales experience. Experience in delivering high quality service to meet complex individual client needs. Ability to handle broad financial product offering, including discretionary investments and insurance. Ability to learn new products, regulations and client situations quickly. Relationship management skills including a track record of building successful relationships with external clients and internal partners. Multilingual language skills an asset.
