ProfileStrategic Federal Tax Services – R&D/Fixed Assets/Inventory/Methods, Manager Duties: Uses specialized tax resources to conduct Tax Accounting Method, Fixed Asset, R&D, Section 199, and Meals and Entertainment consulting services. Providing tax consulting services to large domestic and multinational corporations in both a public company and privately held setting. By properly identifying consulting opportunities, our tax professionals can help clients maximize their cash flow and realize substantial savings to defer revenue recognition and accelerate applicable tax deductions. Will be responsible for designing, implementing and executing accounting method studies and fixed asset reviews to our existing clients as well as industry specific up-market tax clients. This will entail leading, developing and mentoring assigned engagement teams, as well as participating in related marketing and sales aspects of the engagements. Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.Supervise SFTS projects - Managers have the primary responsibility of ensuring that all client projects are conducted in accordance with firm standards and completed on time and within budget.Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills at all times during the engagement.Conduct fieldwork - Due to the size of our regional teams and assigned engagements, our managers will be expected to assist in conducting client engagement fieldwork. This may include visiting the client location, investigating the relevant facts identified, analyzing all applicable accounting information, completing the appropriate tax computations and preparation of written memorandums that summarize the engagement team findings.Travel will be required in the Central US Region and is dependent on client location, size of the local market, size of engagement projects, etc.Client communication, both verbally and in written form, must remain constant. Initiating internal communications regarding status of tasks, relevant technical issues discovered, status of engagement team work load, expected due dates, etc .Managers will be required to “multi-task” and manage numerous client projects and tasks simultaneously. Project managers will be ultimately responsible for the overall project and client end deliverable.Lead and participate in professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.Business Development – take the lead on sales presentations for both existing and prospective clients.Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or business related field is required. Master’s degree in Taxation strongly preferred. CPA or a legal background (JD Degree, LLM) will be considered if substantial accounting and quantitative skills are demonstrated. 5+ years relevant work experience in a Tax environment. Experience in a Big 4 firm, a comparable size public accounting firm or consulting firm is preferred. An intermediate understanding of tax return mechanics is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrated success in Project Management. Candidate must demonstrate ability to manage time, multi-task and meet client deadlines. Proficient Excel skills. Candidate must have solid abilities to analyze and summarize data with accuracy. Teamwork. Candidate must demonstrate experience working as a productive member of a team. Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites as required is expected.
