Vice President, Tax and Insurance The candidate will be responsible for managing the tax and insurance functions at company and will report to the SVP, Corporate Controller. This is a key leadership position within the organization and is responsible for all US and global income tax operations including tax planning, tax controversy, tax compliance and reporting, income tax accounting, special projects including but not limited to tax planning associated with business development transactions. In addition, this position requires management of insurance program effectively based on a risked based approach. Develop and implement global tax program for company working collaboratively with other finance functions, particularly corporate finance and accounting, and corporate legal. Preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions and compliance with SEC disclosure requirements working with accounting, finance, and the company’s auditors. Additionally, as required, communicate positions to senior management and the audit committee. Review and filing of US Federal, State and city tax returns, as well as sales and use tax returns. Review and management of foreign tax compliance. Analyze and communicate tax consequences of planned or executed transactions. Working with the legal department, manage the corporation’s legal entity structure. Review and manage quarterly estimated tax payments and annual income tax extensions. Manage income tax examinations and audits. Manage and maintain an appropriate insurance program balancing business needs and risk. Develop, implement and maintain controls to minimize the risk of financial misstatement, and test those controls under the provisions of Sarbanes Oxley. Managing and develop team by creating a positive environment that challenges, motivates, and prepares members for advancement. Identify and implement process improvement initiatives. Effectively manage relationships with outside global tax advisors. Communicate and education, as needed, cross-functional partners on projects, plans and implications of decisions related to tax and insurance. Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; preferably, complimented with Masters in Taxation and/or Juris Doctor Degree. Must have 15-20 years experience in an international environment and an in-depth knowledge of FAS 109/ ASC 740. Should have experience leading a global tax department in a high growth, dynamic environment. Must have exceptional communications skills with the ability to effectively share information across the organization in clear and easily understandable manner. Additionally, qualified candidates should be able to effectively team with members of Accounting, Finance, Legal and other internal groups to successfully meet the Company’s corporate objectives.
