Investment Management - Private Equity - Tax Manager The candidate will perform high-level reviews of tax research, partnership work papers, allocations and tax returns, as well as prepare and lead client meetings on compliance and consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of transactions to the funds. Will also train, mentor and supervise new and experienced-level tax consultants and tax seniors. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field is required. CPA, Enrolled Agent, or other appropriate certification (or in process of pursuing) is needed. Advanced degree like MST, MAcc, J.D. or LL.M. is preferred. Must have 4+ years of public accounting experience (3+ years in investment management) or equivalent in law firms or industry. Should have work experience and an advanced understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for investment partnerships. A general understanding of the taxation of portfolio investments, the international and multi-state tax issues facing private equity funds, key economic terms such as carried interest and management fees, and the taxation of fund investors is also required. Prior Big 4 experience a plus. Experience with managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence and billing is needed. Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting a plus. Some travel may be required.
