Tax Manager (Investment Management – Hedge Funds) The candidate will handle day-to-day management of multiple client engagements and supervise teams in both U.S. and India-based offices. Primary responsibilities include managing technology-enabled client engagements, developing custom technology, interacting directly with clients and other local office teams, and managing the economics of client projects. Responsible for the development and motivation of engagement staff. Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance, and are expected to address issues related to work/life fit and retention of engagement staff.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MST or JD). CPA, enrolled agent, or other appropriate certification required. Big 4 experience or comparable a plus. 5+ years’ federal tax experience required; hedge fund tax experience preferred (security analysis, hedge fund structures, aggregate allocations). Previous experience in the implementation and/or design of tax technology solutions a plus. Previous experience working with financial products, such as wash sale and constructive sale rules, and aggregate allocations is preferred. Familiarity with hedge fund and administrator accounting systems a plus. Must have strong research and communication skills (both written and oral).
