Profile

Senior Director Global Tax Candidate will direct, plan, and lead the day-to-day management of the global tax group. Will be responsible for managing strategic tax planning, financial accounting for income taxes and tax compliance for all global taxes throughout the Company. Provide leadership to the team by assigning goals which align to department goals and then manage the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring. Manage strategic tax planning and implementation of ideas that favorably reduces the Company’s tax rate and liabilities. Planning and implementation of supply chain and intercompany transfer pricing strategies. Recommend optimum dividend repatriation and tax attribute utilization. Provide tax advice for acquisition, disposition and merger transactions. Collaborate with corporate treasury and finance to plan cash management in a tax efficient manner. Manage Company compliance with all U.S. federal, state, and non-U.S. tax requirements. Worldwide Corporate income tax. Various excise taxes, including U.S. medical device excise tax and Puerto Rico excise tax. Sales and personal property tax. Transfer price documentation. Manage and work with local finance to comply with VAT, GST, and Japanese consumption tax reporting. Manage the Company’s quarterly and annual tax provision and tax footnote. Manage calculations and documentation supporting reserves for uncertain tax position as required by FIN 48. Management and resolution of U.S. and non-U.S. tax audits. Assure timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries. Work to resolve audit issues and negotiate favorable outcomes. Ensure that appropriate tax internal controls surround the tax function and that they are properly adhered to for SOX 404 compliance. Monitor new tax law developments and evaluates impact of implementation. Build and maintain a responsive and efficient tax function. Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Maintains a safe and professional work environment. Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBT, MBA or JD is preferred. CPA certification is required. 15+ years’ progressing responsible tax experience with 10+ years’ supervisory/managerial experience with global corporate taxes is essential. Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model is preferred.
