Tax Research Analyst The candidate will take on multiple tax research projects including global research. Responsible for providing quality transaction tax decisions and assisting with the development and internal consumption of global tax data. Will undertake complex tax research projects and effectively communicate the results. Monitor legislation and judicial decisions for changes in communications transaction taxes for assigned jurisdictions. Update the predictive “Master Tax Schedule†when tax changes occur. Apply tax rate and application logic changes into our software while providing concise documentation of the change. Identify relevant special tax districts and gather compliance forms and remittance address changes. Proactively recommend software enhancements related to industry or tax developments. With experience, provide customer support by answering questions and providing supporting documentation. Contribute to thought leadership formats such as blog posts, newsletters, white papers, training materials and speaking engagements.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, pre-law or economics. CPA, JD Degree / Master of Tax. Technical writing coursework or experience. 2-4 years' research, consulting or audit experience in state and local or transaction taxes. Experience in the communications industry. VAT knowledge or experience. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing. Ability to use a laptop and various software, including MS Office, browsers, subscription research services for Communications products. Proactively participate in a dynamic and innovative tax environment by maintaining a high level of energy while being consistently dependable, efficient, and accurate.
