Asset Management Fiduciary Tax Liaison Leader (National Client Tax Services), Executive Director Duties: As the senior member of the Trust & Estates Fiduciary Tax Practice, will be responsible for leading these efforts at a client level, ensuring that we continue to provide the high level of client service that is expected. Will work with the practice leaders of Trust & Estate Management to better understand the needs of the clients and the required flexibility in our service model. Will focus on the client deliverable with a concentration on the management of the inherent risk associated with the delivery. Act as an interface between Trust and Estate Officers and Deloitte Tax on tax return information and questions. Review and transmit appropriate data to Deloitte Tax for use in trust and estate tax return preparation. Serve as a member of the JPMorgan-Deloitte vendor management oversight team. Collaborate with Deloitte Tax on special projects such as technology solutions for better data transmission, OneSource Trust Tax milestones, Service Level Agreement measurements, Agent for Trustee processes, etc. Work with Trust and Estate officers on a variety of client service requests, new client on-boarding, tax clearance memorandums, handling of tax payments, technical review of trust documents for purposes of trust classification, and other fiduciary policy matters. Collaborate with Deloitte Tax on the interpretation and application of estate and fiduciary federal and state legislative changes to the portfolio of JPMorgan accounts. Review and approve Deloitte Tax invoices determining the appropriate portion of the bill to be charged to client accounts. Collaborate with Wealth Strategists on new trust structures clients are using, legislative developments, fiduciary policy changes, and client expectations. Works with Operations to collaborate on tax data transmission handled by their team into OneSource Trust Tax and/or other databases to facilitate quicker and higher quality trust/estate tax information. Provide supervision, mentorship and career counseling to a team of approximately 12 JPMorgan professionals. Interface with clients as needed on fiduciary tax related matters. Primary liaison with internal partners in risk, legal, audit, compliance and sworn documents for all fiduciary tax related matters.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 10+ years experience in Trust and Estate Tax either in the financial services industry or other professional organization. Advanced degree or other designation preferred (MST, JD, CPA). Excellent interpersonal, and relationship management skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Experience managing professionals in a business environment. Familiar with JPMorgan legacy technologies including OMNI, OneSource Trust Tax and other data sources. Responsive, quick to address challenges, knows how to bring a a project to completion and a creative problem solver. Solid working knowledge of fiduciary and estate tax rules and regulations Enjoys collaboration and team projects. Can anticipate roadblocks and effectively communicate across many constituencies. Understands and can work in the internal JPMorgan matrix to identify the right specialists. Motivates team members to jump into challenges and unfamiliar projects.
