Director of Tax Duties: Work with all Finance groups (Accounting, FP&A and International Finance), with worldwide functional departments and will report to the Corporate Controller. Responsible for all international tax matters, including projects related to legal entity structuring, tax treaties, transfer pricing, minimizing withholding taxes, foreign taxes and US taxes on foreign income. Lead in-house preparation of quarterly and annual global income tax provision calculation and reporting processes. Manage the international and US compliance reporting to ensure all reporting obligations are satisfied accurately and timely. Currently tax compliance is primarily completed by outside providers. Review, monitor, and support transfer pricing on a worldwide basis. Identify tax risk areas and work very closely with the Corporate controller, Legal, HR, and the Operations team to ensure tax risk is minimized and appropriate steps are taken to avoid unnecessary taxes and to take advantage of tax benefits whenever possible. Assist with foreign audits, especially issues related to cross-border transactions. Assist with SOX processes and documentation related to international tax matters. Initiate, lead and implement projects related to the Company’s international structure. Monitor and manage service providers to ensure that monies spent are competitively based and services received are in line with service agreements and management expectations. Stay current on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance. Manage and develop one direct report; tax manager.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: BS Degree in Accounting, with advanced degree and emphasis in taxation (JD/MS-Taxation) strongly preferred. 10+ years of experience in tax, with a minimum of 5 years in international tax preferred. Semiconductor Industry experience and Big 4 experience preferred. Proven ability to research and communicate technical tax issues clearly to non-tax people and work effectively across all levels of internal process owners and external advisors. In-depth knowledge of US international tax laws, including Subpart F, FTC, and transfer pricing. Strong accounting, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to manage own time; self-directed and well organized. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Works with integrity and ethical business practices. Supports company policies and makes data-driven decisions, while actively looking for improvement opportunities.
