Tax Manager - National Tax - Indirect Employment Tax - National The candidate will work in State and Local Tax - Indirect Employment Tax practice. This practice provides the following services to clients: planning and compliance for mergers; acquisitions and internal reorganizations; audit defense for withholding and unemployment audits; employment tax consulting (one-off questions); and unemployment claims administration. Demonstrate an understanding of complex unemployment tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations. Identify and present opportunities for tax planning and other services. Manage the work of client service team members. Participate in and contribute to attaining team goals. Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Lead in developing recommendations and implementation plans and make informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and 4 years of related work experience. CPA or CPP certification is needed. A degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable. Must have 3+ years of relevant tax consulting experience or equivalent experience in business or industry. Must have broad exposure to unemployment state and local taxation. Should have excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
