Legal Analyst Responsibilities: Will research, analyze, and document transaction tax laws domestically and internationally. Research, interpret, document and apply tax laws and regulations. Monitor statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions and tax publications to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations. Correspond with tax authorities worldwide. Provide recommendations on complicated tax issues. Communicate complicated tax issues in an understandable manner to non-tax professionals. Conduct training and presentations on areas of responsibility. Perform special projects as assigned by management. Develop and analyze test cases for tax compliance. Provide guidance to other departments regarding tax processes.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications/Requirements: A Juris Doctorate degree. A Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, business administration, finance, or related field is a plus. Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. Demonstrated ability to research laws and regulations of indirect tax. Ability to utilize online research tools (e.g. IBFD, Tax Analyst, etc.) .Superior communication and writing skills; the ability to write white papers on topical subjects for publications. Ability to identify customer specific tax requirements and prepare solutions. Superior organizational and project management skills. Strong aptitude for detail. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to consistently meet rigid and recurring deadlines. Ability to interact successfully with internal and external customers: supervisors, other team members and departments, and customers and various tax authorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and advanced skills in Excel. Technical aptitude to be able to understand simple pseudo codes and logics.
