State and Local Tax (SALT) Associate The candidate should have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar. Bar admission in California is preferred. Must have 2-4 years of experience handling the following: researching multistate tax issues primarily in the income and franchise tax areas; preparing legal memoranda; drafting petitions, discovery requests and responses; assisting in the preparation of motions and briefs; tax planning and consulting with clients regarding issues such as corporate franchise and income taxes, sales and use taxes, real and personal property taxes, and telecommunications and electronic commerce taxes; Strong interest in multi-state litigation is essential.
