Tax Manager – National Tax – International Tax – Global Withholding Tax (GWT) Duties: Research and analyze global withholding tax rules and issues. Research and analyze bilateral and multilateral international treaties. Understand and apply withholding tax rules to client’s business transactions. Keep informed of current withholding tax developments and rule/law changes. Analyze complex client issues and assist in developing recommendations and implementation plans. Create innovative solutions to complex issues. Coordinate foreign country resources (20+ countries) on global projects, through monitoring of status, budget/billing, and project timeline. Consistently deliver quality work products. Review work completed by other team members and foreign country offices. Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork skills, and leadership initiative. Participate in and contribute to attaining team goals. Foster relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Monitor progress and verify key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Assist with business development opportunities. Understand firm and its service lines and actively assess ways to serve clients. Develop relationships with team members across all firm practices to serve client needs.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and 2-3 years of related work experience; degree in accounting, business, finance, international relations or a related field (an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desired); Relevant tax consulting experience or equivalent experience in business or industry; Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications or other sector specific IT applications, specifically related to tax functionality is a plus; Excellent analytical and organizational skills; Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, along with a positive attitude; Demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethic; CPA certification, Member of the Bar, or foreign equivalent certification; Second language skills are highly desired.
