The Staff Counsel position is within the US Trade and Distribution section of the Office of the General Counsel, which represents the sales and distribution function of the company. The primary role will be to provide counsel on both litigation and transactions regarding Chrysler Group's independently owned dealerships and all aspects of the sale and distribution of Chrysler Group's products. In addition, this position will provide support to the following groups: Parts and Service, Fleet Sales, Dealer Audit, Service Contracts, Legislative Affairs and Sales/Incentives groups. Basic Requirements: Juris Doctorate degree Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial litigation and/or commercial transactions Experience with automotive franchise laws, or ability to interpret statutory materials Reading and interpreting state statutes Manage and prioritize multiple tasks at a time, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Requirements: Experience with automotive franchise laws, or similar experience with heavily statutory materials A background in drafting and negotiating commercial transactions is strongly desired Strong interpersonal and presentation skills Previous in-house experience is preferred Note: Some of the benefits listed above may not apply to summer vacation replacement and temporary employees.
