Senior Trademark Paralegal The candidate will provide legal services and resolves legal matters for assigned responsibilities or clients. Support the business in the achievement of business objectives by communicating advice of the Legal Department and managing legal risks to the corporation. Identify moderately complex legal issues related to assigned matter; proposes alternative solutions. Perform substantive legal work that requires knowledge of legal concepts including analysis, drafting, negotiating and consulting. Resolve routine and moderately complex to complex legal matters in area of responsibility with minimal supervision. Perform independent analysis of unique problems and proposes solutions to a more experienced paralegal or attorney. Assist more experienced paralegals and/or attorneys in resolving complex legal issues on projects involving multiple disciplines within the Legal Division and/or multiple functional areas or divisions within the company. Possess solid knowledge of company’s businesses supported and knowledge of the broader business impact. Keep abreast of changes in laws that affect client areas. Represent the company externally to customers, suppliers, competitors, opposing counsel or government agencies; resolves legal issues using negotiation skills and legal experience involving more complex matters. Represent Legal Division internally to clients Helps select and/or directs the work of outside counsel, outside paralegals, contractors and vendors; defines project objectives and manages project. Advise legal department managers of critical project developments in a timely manner. Execute core job responsibilities in a timely manner Assigned matters generally have a significant impact on business activities and operations Interacts across all levels of management. Develop estimates for outside counsel fees for assigned legal matters with supervision from more experienced paralegals and/or attorneys. Demonstrate strong leadership competencies, considered as a potential successor to the Paralegal Supervisor. Bachelor’s Degree and / or relevant legal education (Paralegal certificate) and 4 – 7 years of relevant experience required. Proficient in area of responsibility.
