Senior or Corporate Counsel – Pharma Global Business Unit Duties: Reports to the Associate General Counsel for company's Americas Region and Pharma GBU within company's global legal team. Will be supporting its supporting its Pharmaceuticals Global Business Unit (Pharma GBU) company's Pharma GBU develops, manufactures and commercializes a broad range of injectable pharmaceutical products in a number of presentation formats, including vials, ampoules, pre-mixed bags. Will be responsible for providing counsel and support to senior leadership of the Pharma GBU in connection with a variety of complex and sensitive legal and business issues. The individual will serve as a strategic partner to the Pharma GBU business team, while addressing legal and regulatory risks and protecting company's integrity and reputation. Will draft, interpret and negotiate a wide variety of commercial and strategic agreements related to company's Pharmaceuticals business, including development, manufacturing, product license, API sourcing and other commercial agreements, as well as providing counsel on other complex legal issues and leading other legal projects or matters as necessary.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications : A J.D. degree from a nationally or internationally recognized institution. 7+ years of relevant professional experience in a high-caliber law firm or comparable corporate environment. Excellent academic credentials. Significant experience in drafting, negotiating and counseling clients on a variety of complex commercial / transactional agreements. Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred, including substantial knowledge and understanding of the drug development life cycle, the respective roles and responsibilities of the parties in that process and the laws, regulations and guidance’s governing the pharmaceutical industry, including the Food, Drug, an Cosmetic Act and FDA’s Hatch Waxman regulations and interpretations. Proven experience with counseling business clients. The candidate should embrace the Law Department’s Professional Standards and will demonstrate the experience and qualities of a valued business attorney and a genuine team player, by: Understanding the strategic and tactical objectives of company's Pharma GBU and the associated legal implications of business plans and processes; developing long and short-term solutions that take into account the current and future needs of the business; and providing leadership through leveraging of business and industry information to enable the business in identifying and solving business issues. Taking leadership roles among in-house counsel and other legal professionals, outside counsel and client personnel on specific initiatives, projects or goals. Delegating, obtaining resources, and/or taking actions that move projects to closure while maximizing personnel and business unit effectiveness. Effectively and cost efficiently managing and directing outside counsel as needed to support execution of projects, transactions or matters. Providing training and guidance to other attorneys and support staff and to the business in the legal and regulatory regime governing the renal and healthcare industry. Acting as a mentor for less experienced attorneys and non-attorney members of the Law Department' contributing substantially to attracting, developing and retaining employees; contributing substantially to attracting, developing and retaining employees.
