Senior Intellectual Property Manager The candidate reporting to the Director of IP, will be expected to work in conjunction with Innovation personnel to manage the procurement of patent rights for inventions owned by company and company affiliates. In particular, will be responsible for the below delineated activities and projects. Assist invention triage as it relates to determining aspects and scope of the invention suitable for patent protection. Develop patenting strategy for critical intellectual property portfolios. Manage and conduct prosecution of select patent applications and/or portfolios owned or co-owned by company and company affiliates. Analyze interactions with patent office and provide strategic advice on intellectual property development. Act a resource for Innovation on changes in patent law, recommend actions based on recent legal precedent. Draft and file coversheet provisional patent applications on inventions owned or co-owned by company and company affiliates. Provide patent filing and/or patent prosecution strategy to Innovation. Conduct and manage the resolution of inventorship disputes. Audit work product and invoices from patent law service vendors. Generate educational inter-departmental presentations on topics relating to patent law. Provide analysis on language of license agreements relating to patent right conveyance and enforcement. Must be registered U.S. patent attorney or patent agent with more than 5 years of professional experience working as a patent attorney and/or patent agent. Ph.D. or advanced degree in a scientific discipline preferred. Must have experience in basic computer software applications (e.g., Word and Excel). Experience in the use of data based applications is needed. Specialization in Medical Devices, Software or Biophysics preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Should have excellent organizational and analytical skills.
