Senior Editor-Corporate and M&A Attorney Duties: Develop ideas for private equity and mergers and acquisitions law content to be published on Practical Law’s online services. Draft, write, edit and update resources, including standard form documents, practice guidance notes and checklists in accordance with Practical Law writing style. Establish and maintain relationships with external law firm contributors. Write and edit content for Practical Law's companion print magazine, Journal. Develop relationships with law firm attorneys, in-house counsel and industry groups to ensure that Practical Law's content is topical and meets their needs. Assist sales team by participating in sales calls and demonstrating service to potential subscribers. Organize and conduct webinars on private equity and private M&A topics.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 6+ years’ experience working as a private equity and private M&A lawyer in a law firm. Significant practice experience in private equity and private M&A transactions, including: Stock and asset acquisitions, mergers and recapitalizations of private-company targets; Buyouts and leveraged buyouts representing private equity sponsors; Late-stage, growth equity minority investments, early-stage venture capital and other minority investments (preferred, but not required); and Exits and other liquidity events, stockholder equity arrangements, and management compensation and equity incentives. A good understanding of the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys and the legal market. A passion for writing and good editing skills, including: very close attention to detail; impressive command of grammar, punctuation and plain English; strong technical drafting skills; and the ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply. Enthusiasm and ambition, with a desire to improve the efficiency of legal services.
